We’re officially opening up the Triangle Fantasy Wine League for business! We’ll have signups over the next couple weeks, getting team names and all that together, then start our wine consuming in style. To sign up, just leave a comment below with your name and team name.
Here is a refresher on the rules
This is a free league; all that is required is that you promise a bottle of wine to the winner of the league. Aside from that, you’re guaranteed to end up tasting around 6 to 10 wines every session as well as keeping the rest of your provided wine (or sticking around for a sharing session with the other players!).
One note; if the wine is corked or otherwise tainted, you get one free make-up tasting session at the end of the league. Beyond that, it’s going to be like an injury in fantasy sports: bad luck happens, so your other positions will have to pick up the slack.
Based on the feedback provided, it seems that Mondays are the best days for the majority of people. I’ve built the league to meet on this day. Before you sign up, take a look at the calendar of matchups and make sure you can make it to at least 5 of the sessions:
December 6th: Wide Receiver (light-to-medium-bodied whites)
December 20th: Running Back (light-to-medium-bodied reds)
January 3rd: Linebacker (sparkling and frizzante wines)
January17th: Tight End (full-bodied whites)
January 31st: Quarterback (full-bodied reds)
February 14th: Defensive Back (Rosés and chilled reds) <—this date is negotiable. Please leave your input on it with your team name comment
February 28th: Defensive End (dessert wines and sweet wines)
March 14th: Utility / Flex (one-time makeup session if necessary)
