A Local Raffle for a Good Cause

On a more personal note (much like the previous post, actually) I would like to take the time to write a few words about a worthy cause. Much like I put my appearance on the line for charity back in November, a couple of friends of mine, Stacey Alexander and Morgan Siem, are going to take the plunge and shave their heads for children’s cancer. While I will not be shaving my head this go round (not that I have that much to lose anyways), I’d like to contribute however I can, so I’m providing a few items on behalf of wine(accessorized) for a raffle they are holding this weekend at fundraising event at Isaac Hunter’s Oak City Tavern in downtown Raleigh. In addition to many other great prizes, you’ll be able to win:

Oenophilia 10-Bottle Avocado Bali Wine Rack ($60)

Oenophilia 10-Bottle Mid-Century Wine Rack ($100)

Bamboo Bottle Rack

Oenophilia 8-Bottle Bamboo Wine Rack ($44)

Stiletto Cork Extractor

Oenophilia Stiletto Cork Extractor with Foilcutter ($48)

Oenophilia Wine Arch 8

Oenophilia Cathedral 8-Bottle Wine Arch Rack ($32)

To recap, if you’re in the Raleigh area, come out to Isaac Hunter’s Oak City Tavern on Fayetteville Street from 6PM to 10PM this Saturday, March 12th, to participate in the raffle, where these prizes, among many others, will be given away. It’ll also be a great way to show your support for two very brave women. You can get more information on the event or leave an encouraging message on their Facebook event page.

If you’re not in the area but still want to contribute to a great cause, please visit the Media Two St. Baldricks page to donate. Any amount is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your support!

The Movember Charity Prize Drive

By donating, this awesome accessory could be yours

Interested in a chance to win premium wine accessories while helping out a phenomenal cause? With the end of Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes the beginning of Movember, a month-long mustache-filled extravaganza. We’re taking no-shave November and putting it to a great cause, the awareness and research of prostate cancer and men’s health.

To raise money for the cause, tens of thousands of men across the nation are giving their upper lips a hirsute workout. The Raleigh-Durham team has already raised over $13,000 a third of the way through November, but we can do better!

That’s where the prizes come in.

For every 5 dollars you donate to my Mospace page in the month of November, you get one entry into a drawing for one of over a dozen fantastic prizes!

Grand Prize: The Ravi Instant Wine Chiller (retail price of $50)

Second Prize: Porto Port Sipper Decanter Set (retail price of $40)

Third Prize: Oenophilia Stainless Steel Wine Chiller (retail price of $30)

Honorable Mention (three prizes): Oenophilia Oeno Pull (retail price of $30)

If you don’t win one of those, don’t worry.

There are plenty of consolation prizes in the works.

Plenty of fantastic prizes beyond the grand prize!

Nolita 4 Bottle Wine Rack (retail price of $30)

Menu Selection Aerating Pourer (retail price of $20)

Ostrich-Leather-Style 8 Ounce Flask (retail price of  $20)

Varietal Stopper Set: Bordeaux, Chardonnay, Merlot (retail price 0f $20)

Varietal Stopper Set: Cabernet, Shiraz, Zinfandel (retail price of $20)

Fusion 4 Compact Stemware Rack (retail price of $17)

Courtesan Wood & Pewter Wine Stopper Set (retail price of $15)

Oenophilia Wine Preserver Pump Set (retail price of $10)

Of course, we’re not going to let a good deed go unrewarded. If all the prizes are given away, we’ve still got a gift set consisting of a tasting guide and a waiter’s corkscrew for anyone who donates and doesn’t luck out. Basically, if you contribute $5, you’re getting more back regardless of whether you win. If you contribute $10 or $20 or even more, you’re just getting more and more chances to win a top prize.

So donate now! Just visit my Mospace page and click “Donate to Me.” Make sure you leave a message with either your Twitter handle or your email address so that I can contact you for shipping information for your prize.

Thank you all,

Josh
